Here’s a small sampling of my work…

  • Hydropower is the world’s largest source of renewable energy, yet we don’t hear much about it. That’s in part because hydropower generation in the U.S. has remained relatively steady for decades. But internationally, it’s been growing rapidly, especially in China: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZSUoClnyyN4

  • Camden, New Jersey's police department has become an example of police reform since the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police. The city developed an extensive surveillance system with over 200 cameras and 70 microphones placed around the city. But the community is skeptical as to whether this method is effective, or harmful. I teamed up with Business Insider as a documentary DP and field producer for this fascinating story on Camden, policing and surveillance: https://www.insider.com/inside-camden-new-jerseys-high-tech-police-control-center-2021-2

  • We Decoded The Guns People Bring To Protests And Rallies Across the US | I teamed up with Business Insider as a documentary DP and field producer to help put together this video “decoding” the guns people are bringing to protests and rallies: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zczmz4850wM&t=294s

  • Thousands Of Women Believe Their Breast Implants Made Them Sick, Business Insider Today. For this I spent a day interviewing and documenting the experience of Tracie Mohler, who suffers from health symptoms associated with synthetic implants: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5v1q5SWLUs

  • Three reasons why the Democrats’ Blue Wall crumbled, Politico. I teamed up with Politico as a director of photography and shot the video for this multimedia story on how the Democrats lost Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan, and what they’re doing to get these states back: https://www.politico.com/interactives/2019/democrats-blue-wall-swing-states-pennsylvania-wisconsin-michigan/

In 2019, I was a video journalism fellow at the Texas Tribune, where I helped produce and shoot the Tribune’s mini-docuseries ‘Under the Dome’. I was heavily involved in shooting and reporting the stories on:

  • Disaster relief, Hurricane Harvey, and the legislature’s effort to provide aid to the Texas Gulf Coast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcCDEyWG3_A&t=330s

  • The debate over gun legislation and the impact of school shootings on Texas youth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--Ay0SCwOx0&list=PLJ0QpNyUHKi6zMTLB5uFyKYpByGA5H6tV&index=9

  • Efforts on the part of disability activist Susie Angel and sex trafficking survivor advocate Allison Franklin to lobby the Texas Legislature for funding and reform: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BdWoWwAfHzM&list=PLJ0QpNyUHKi6zMTLB5uFyKYpByGA5H6tV&index=8

My first short documentary, “The Land Is Ours” (2019, 17 min) was presented at the CUNY film festival, where it was awarded Best Editing, and nominated for best cinematography, best documentary and best scripting. Told in a lyrical form, the film delves into the heart of the South African land crisis, giving an unsettling sense of how a country’s past can continue to haunt the present: https://vimeo.com/292818051
