Hi, welcome
I’m a writer and filmmaker/photographer.
I’m particularly interested in images and text—and how the two intersect with story.
Whether it’s more traditional forms of documentary or non-fiction storytelling, or more exploratory forms of art and narrative, I consider it all part of a single practice.
I work fluently in Mandarin, French and my native English.
VISUAL
Feel free to explore the “Video/Film” and “Photo” tabs for the different aspects of my work.
My short docs and video journalism have appeared in publications like The Texas Tribune, Business Insider, CNBC, NPR and Politico, in addition to various film festivals.
Aside from documentary, I also collaborate on a range of other projects, working with galleries and private clients to design visuals specific to their needs.
I am also an FAA-licensed drone pilot.
WRITING
My writing, reporting and criticism have appeared in Ultra Dogme, Business Insider, City Limits and the Mail & Guardian.
Occasionally, I translate from Mandarin to English.
BIO
I am currently based in Shanghai, China.
I got my start at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism, where I received an MA in documentary filmmaking. During my time there I gained a foundation in visual storytelling, as well as research, reportage and the ethics of journalism.
